a 4-Week “minimalist” Training Program with Kettlebells

Today’s one of those days for me where I just need to get my "Zen" on.

Rozanne and I spent the weekend nursing our 2 youngest kids who have come down with the flu.  Joaquin (our son) has been sick with an on-again-off-again fever since last Tuesday and has probably dropped 5lbs and Mikey clocked a fever of 101 a couple of nights ago.

When I woke up this morning, Frankie our 5 year old was crying because "it hurts when I walk".  Oh, crap.

Mornings like this are disastrous and if you’re a parent, I know you know what I’m talking about.  It’s going to be tough to get a workout in today if I’m going to constantly be on "puke" duty.

My workouts of late have been focused around Geoff Neupert’s Kettlebell Muscle program and it’s been great because all my workouts are quick and intense.  But today is a 6-circuit, lots of reps day so I think I’m going to do the bare minimum and just focus on 3 movements here at home.

I got asked recently by one of my friends what the best in-home kettlebell program for him to do would be if he didn’t have any time.

I filmed the video below for him and I think you’d get a lot out of it as well…

Now back to playing Dr. Daddy.

whats the correct weight KB an adult male of 36-45 should use or start with and the the same for a female from age 36-46 should be using? I am hearing conflicting reports on this. Your input would be great I would like to make them Christmas presents to freinds who want to get into them and get them into your programs.

    thanks

    Hey Chris,

Thanks for another great video. I was just wondering why you prefer to have a full grip when doing pull ups. I always find my forearms tire before my lats/biceps using this grip so I’ve been using what you call a ‘false grip’.

Should I do more work on my grip strength?

Good luck with the sick kids!
