NEW PROGRAM: The Kettlebell MMA Takedown

 The excitement is building up in this city.  Every radio station I turn to, every newspaper and every TV show is pegging this as one of the greatest sporting events that Toronto has ever seen…obviously you know that I’m NOT talking about the Royal Wedding.  (Which, by the way, I don’t get.  They’re actually selling official programs to the Royal Wedding.)

 

UFC 129 is coming to the SkyDome here in Toronto (actually it’s called the Rogers Centre, but those who are born and bred in T.O. still call it by its original name).

 

I said a couple of weeks ago that I’m not a big MMA fan but as this event starts to come about, it’s growing on me each and everyday.  In fact, given a choice, I’ll take watching UFC 129 over the Royal Wedding (still don’t get it)  and even – dare I say it – hockey playoffs, any day of the week.

 

Tomorrow, in fact, a buddy of mine invited to come down and check out the weigh-in and I must admit, I’m a bit intrigued.  Seeing guys prance around in their skivvies isn’t my thing, but I’d love to see the trash talking going during the press conference prior to the actual weigh-in.  If I do end up going, I’ll make sure I have exclusive video for you!
