I had a really good deadlifting session yesterday. In fact it was a great training day altogether.
If you didn’t know, I’m a huge fan of 90s Hip Hop, and I got a hold of a great new Old School Mixtape from one of my favourite music sites – HypeTrak.com.
So with Pete Rock, Gang Starr & Tribe blaring in my headphones, I deadlifted, then I did 40 chin-ups and I finished with some Viking Warrior Conditioning.
Today is an off day so I’ll go for a long walk, again listening to my iPod except this time I’ll be listening to educational stuff.
I’ve got a couple of good videos for you.
The first is a TRX circuit video that I made. It’s a great simple circuit that’s pretty challenging for your abs…
The second is a great postural video that I have been using with one of my clients extensively and seeing tremendous results.
It’s an exercise that I picked up from Dan John called “The Bat Wing”…..
That’s it for today. I’m at the Ontario Provincial Volleyball Championships this weekend. I’ll be there because several athletes that I work with will be competing – most importantly my daughter A.J.!

I love the variety of the workout and how easy it flows involing the total body. The “bat wing” row you showed is an exercise I do with my athletes and is very effective. Nice job sharing with everyone!

Hi Chris,
Just been doing isometric scapular retraction (bat wing) with the TRX for my clients. Works really well, plus improves quality of full TRX row. As ever with TRX, progression/regression is simply a case of body angle, & time under tension.

Couldn’t agree with you more Simon. That’s why I think it’s great for bootcamps. Your campers can adjust their level accordingly by just moving the angle of their body.

Great circuit workout with TRX. Just finished it – you make those atomic pushups look really easy – they’re not. I added planks to the end of mine.
